Back from Vacation
We really had a wonderful; there were some nerves before going: the first family vacation, James nervous about seing a friend lost for a year (1/6th of his life really), the long travel time. Things went great, with the few can’t be avoided bumps
.
I wanted to post as I went along, for the freshness, but the internet connection was slow and I was busy, so you get the stale version. I am also going to break it up into various posts, to try to capture the seperate times. Bear with me. We’ll call this: the beginning.
And we began by meeting our friends in Dexter, Maine. There was some nervousness; James was quite concerned over how Becca may have changed. And yet, after a brief, somewhat odd to adult ears, reintroduction, they ran off to play as if time had not passed at all. In some large way, it made my heart break, to be reminded that here was a wonderful friend, who could be played with with little trouble, who brought out the best in him, who lived on the other side of another country. But, they had a few precious days to renew their connection (as Chelle and I had ours) and it was wonderful.

And so ends The Beginning, particularly as James is up, lying on the floor, hungry.

I’m so glad you had a fun and safe trip.
Old friends can be such an inspiration to keep the connection closer and more often instead of so few and far in between.
I’m glad little James didn’t let fear and shyness stop him from having a blast!
Sounds like you had a great time. I love the pictures.
we miss you already. probably more than before!
Thank you for making that happen. It meant the world to us.
Glad you had a great trip and a chance to catch up and get together wiath your good friends.
