Two memes, one post
Seriously, I get busy, and there’s blogging craziness. You people have been busy!
So, I have two memes to attend to which I hope to get done before James is done brushing his teeth. Surely this sounds like an impossibility, but, when I last left him, he had a trashcan over his head, his Superman shirt and underwear on, and was headed in the general direction of the bathroom. And I have been asking him to brush his teeth for 30 minutes. I can hear shooting sounds. Anyone want to lay odds?
Number one, from Kitten , a random things meme, and I’m going to break the rules, by not posting the rules and not linking to random people. I’m barely getting to the meme. I’m falling behind blogging-wise, so I’m a wild rule breaker. But, it is a six random things, so here goes:
1. I get really easily cold. Hands, ears, nose, feet, well all of me. It’s probably in the low 60s in the house and I’m in a sweatshirt, socks, slippers. You get the picture.
2. Feb. 2nd was our 2nd anniversary of moving into our house. I wouldn’t remember except it’s Groundhog Day. Handy that. To celebrate we moved thousands of pounds of rock in the formation of a butterfly/hummingbird garden.
3. I also gave my first human haircut, James. There are no pictures, not because it was so bad, but because I moved thousand of pounds of rock and wasn’t up for picture taking. It wasnt bad. Not great, but not bad.
4. I can’t stand keeping my fingernails long. By long, I mean not incredibly short. If they get more than 1/4″, I cut them off.
5. This is useful if I play piano, which I used to. But I don’t anymore. One day, I would like to again. Darren is a better player than I without practicing, which is hard on the ego.
6.   I’m still not sure when to use categories and when to use tags.
The second meme is from Erin, and it’s a blogging meme. So,
How long have you been blogging?
My first blog was 4 years ago, started for our adoption trip to China, so family and friends could follow along. That was on a private server. I’m not sure if we even have a copy of it anymore (how sad would that be?). I started this blog Oct. 2005, for friends and family who lived across the country to follow along in James’ life.
What inspired you to start your blog, and who are your mentors?
Well, James inspired me. I mean, he’s so amazing, who wouldn’t want to read about him?
However, if it wasn’t for Chelle (and the forgetful nature of my family) my blog would still be locked. I had it as a private blog and Chelle and I were matched through our mom’s club as secret moms or pals or some such thing. She had, on her e-mail signature, her blog address. And so, I spied on her the entire time, getting great ideas, getting to know her, feeling really guilty that I was prying into her life and not allowing her the same privilege. So, as soon as the reveal was done, I gave her my blog address and unlocked it.Â

Are you trying to make money online, or are you doing this just for fun?
No, no money, though I’m always open to any offers.
What 3 things do you love about being online?
1. I can find out anything. I love Google. Want to know about eggcups, because there’s a society (and in my opinion, an illness) for that?
2. The rapid exchange of ideas. Have a problem, a question, someone has a solution, suggestion, a thought. Put it out there, you’ll get an idea to chew on.
3. The people, way better than the telephone, I can stay in touch, see pictures, keep my friends and family close, share our lives.
And, in case anyone’s wondering, I would have lost that bet.Â

I hear ya of being busy. It’s good to get to know ya a little better, thou.
I have an award for you at my blog.
I am so not a phone person. I know this drives people bonkers but I cannot be on the phone (If I am, I never get off the phone not sure which is worse) I love connecting with people, but do not have time on the phone. Internet email (although I have been bad at emailing back ugh) blogging all helps me stay connected to the connected. People that are not online simply do nto exist. how weird is that?
Love your list! Always fun to learn new things about ya! The bloggers are busy. I know it is very hard for me to keep up right now.
Thank you for your thoughts. I have an update of momma. Not much of one, thou. See ya in a few days. I’m back to the hospital.
I haven’t forgotten you. You wouldn’t like our weather here, but you would like our house. We might let it get down to the low 60’s over night, but during the day, it is closer to the 80’s. Our son wears shorts all year round and we often remove our sweatshirts and wear just t-shirts in the house when the weather is 0ËšF outside. I hope you recovered from the rock moving.
How interesting why you started a blog, and I am glad you went public and started visiting others (me).
